StoryCorps is an amazing nonprofit organization that has been collecting personal stories from people around the nation since 2003 when they installed a “storybooth” in Grand Central Terminal in NYC.
From their website: (https://storycorps.org)

StoryCorps gives people of all backgrounds, typically two at a time, the opportunity to record meaningful conversations and archives the recordings at the Library of Congress.

StoryCorps’ mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world.

We do this to remind one another of our shared humanity, to strengthen and build the connections between people, to teach the value of listening, and to weave into the fabric of our culture the understanding that everyone’s story matters. At the same time, we are creating an invaluable archive for future generations.

To complete this challenge, grab someone you’d like to interview (or someone who’d like to interview YOU), and record one of your own to submit to the collection. You can do this at one of their locations or by using the StoryCorps App. They even give you a lengthy list of great interview questions to choose from at https://storycorps.org/participate/great-questions/
